FY15 Withholding and Online Resources

On June 24 the Governor signed the budget and released a list of General Revenue line item vetoes and withholds. The withholds included the full amount of the REAL Appropriation ($3.1 million) for FY15, July 1, 2014 – June 30, 2015. Since the full amount of the REAL Appropriation has been withheld, at this time the State Library is not able to enter into any agreement with MOREnet to cover any part of the costs for the Online Resources available to all Full and Basic Service MOREnet Members.

We realize that the Online Resources and access to the research and education materials is of great importance to all our members. Fortunately, MOREnet has a contingency fund that allows us to renew some of the databases for one year.

  • EBSCO, Gale and Learning Express Library: These databases will continue to be available with no changes for FY15.
  • HeritageQuest: We are actively talking with ProQuest about our options to retain access to HeritageQuest for FY15 and hope to share this information as soon as possible.
  • Job and Career Accelerator and Popular Software Tutorials (now called Computer Skills Center) will not be renewed after September 30, 2014. If you would like to purchase access to either of these database there is a consortium discount rate available at in the LearningExpress, LLC section.
